A Look Into The Future From The Vantage Of 1954
Dateline 1954 - a look fifty years into the future
Scientists from the Rand Corporation have created this model to illustrate how a 'home computer' could look like in the year 2004. However, the needed technology will not be economically feasible for the average home. Also, the scientists readily admit that the computer will require not yet invented technology to actually work, but fifty years from now scientific progress is expected to solve these problems. With the teletype interface and the Fortran language, the computer will be easy to use.
Random Humor: Football Tryouts
Ole Olsen was trying out for football.
"Can you tackle?" asked the coach.
"Watch this," said Olsen, whereupon he proceeds to run into a telephone pole and bust it to splinters.
"Wow! that is amazing! Can you run fast?"
"Sure can," said Olsen, and he ran a 9 second 100 yard dash.
"Great!" said the coach. "Can you pass a football?"
"Yessir, if I can swallow it, I can pass it."
